Sensible heat

Why would you need a heating on the islands of eternal spring?
The reason is that even in springtime it might be chilly and uncomfortable.
During the months of November and December, the temperature might drop to 5°C. As most of the houses on the Canary Islands do not have insulation or double glazing, they cool down very quickly. Then it is really nice to be able to warm up the house just turning on a central heating.

The use of chimneys for heating rooms does not only create a comfortable temperature, but also a nice and cosy atmosphere.

Heating of the pools is also often necessary as the temperature of the water sometimes cools more down at night as the sun is able to heat up again during daytime.
